|Another Peaceful Protest|
When Jesus began His ministry, he launched His own “peaceful protest.” It was called preaching the kingdom of God. He called for change. He called for love of one’s enemies. He called for forgiveness. He called for kindness toward strangers. He called for a uniting of all people in one body.
His crucifixion might be an indication of failure! The politics and governments of His day did not change. Hypocrisy and selfishness in ruling religious powers did not change. Most people continued a self-serving life of wickedness. However, with His resurrection, there was a resurrection of hope and repentance – change toward God – that brought multitudes of diverse people together in love, peace, gentleness, integrity and goodness.
There are still people like that in this world today. Let’s begin our peaceful protest: Living and preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God! Like we tell our children: God loves everybody.
