Will We Be In The Tribulation? |
Bible history records many great tribulations. The word simply means a time of trouble, usually involving a large number of people on a wide scale. Sample tribulations include famine, war, disease and natural calamities like locust plague, earthquake, and flood. Further, there are many examples of tribulations in the world outside of Bible history. Obviously, our current corona virus pandemic is a world wide tribulation (time of trouble). When the Bible speaks of “the tribulation,” it is talking about a specific time of trouble. The context of the statement will help determine what, when where the tribulation will be. There is not one great tribulation we must fear. These tribulations in the Bible refer to specific judgments of God in history because of disobedience as well as times of persecution for God’s children. Tribulations mentioned in the New Testament include the persecution of Christians (Acts 11:19) and the destruction of Jerusalem (Matthew 24:29). Even though we will suffer tribulation, we will not be in either of those tribulations. They have already happened. But those events help us know that we must prepare for other tribulations by trusting and obeying the Lord so that we are found to be faithful, in Him, no matter what troubles may come. If we do that, we can weather the storm! Call, if you would like a list of times tribulation mentioned in the Bible. 212-729-8356 |
