You can’t bully someone into following the Lord. |
For sincere disciples of Christ, it is frustrating when people we know and care about are not willing to believe and obey the Lord. First, it is frustrating because the Lord is worthy of our worship and should be honored in our lives. Secondly, it is frustrating because we want so desperately for our dear ones to know the blessings in Christ.
If overt pressure to accept Jesus was an acceptable way to get people to follow Jesus, God has power enough to compel anyone to be a Christian. Clearly that is not what God wants.
God wants people to believe and follow Jesus Christ. God wants people to know Him and submit to Him from a willing heart. So God presents truth and offers His love. In our efforts to help others, we must do the same: teach the truth of His word and express His love and our love.
We need to be candid but kind. Be persistent but patient . You can’t bully anyone into faith because a person’s heart must change.
