| When did the 1st Century Christians Eat the Lord’s Supper? |
|
Unless the Bible tells us, we do not know. In Acts 20:7 we find the only mention of a time the disciples gathered to break bread. The apostle Paul waited seven days to join in this supper with the saints. Did the early Christians eat this supper in Jesus’ memory on any other day? We do not know that. We do know they gathered to eat on the first day of the week – Sunday. If we are careful to do what the Bible reveals, that is the day we will gather to break the bread. Gathering on the 1st day of the week means each time that day occurs!
